Hosanna Wong is an author, speaker, and spoken word artist sharing stories of freedom and hope to various ages, cultures, and communities around the country. Known for sharing complex Biblical truths through simple, raw, captivating stories and refreshingly accessible applications, Hosanna teaches and performs at churches, conferences, prisons, and various events and urban ministries year-round.
Known in her early years as a traveling, nomadic, missionary artist living out of a suitcase, Hosanna found home in corners all over the world, and community in the global family of God.
Her stories, tracks, and teachings are rooted in her upbringing on the streets of San Francisco, her first-hand experiences with loss, hope, and redemption, and her innermost desires to see lives healed and restored through the truth of the Gospel.
Her personal experiences on the streets, and on the road, have shaped her writings and equipped her teachings in reaching, challenging, and encouraging those far from God, as well as those a part of the Church at large.
Under the name Hosanna Poetry, she has released two spoken word albums Maps, Boots, & Other Ways We Get There (2013), and Figless (2015). In the summer of 2017 she released her debut full-length chapter book, I Have a New Name, a call to God’s children to boldly claim victory over their identity. She released her brand new book, Superadded, April 2018. Through its super short chapters and super practical applications, Hosanna reveals personal practices and routines, and shares scriptures and stories about a super-adding God and the abundant, extraordinary, superadded life He has for us.
Hosanna is the Co-Director of Calvary Street Ministries, an outreach bringing hope to the homeless in San Francisco. Fall 2018 / Spring 2019 she is touring alongside Karrie Garcia for the Something New Tour, an event for women searching for freedom.
When not on the road, she can be found alongside her husband, Guy, a pastor in their home of Los Angeles, CA, serving together with various local churches and ministries, and living simple, superadded lives, grilling chicken wings and gardening too many plants in their outdoor patio.
